Barclays appoints Florent Rodier as Head of Exotic Derivatives, Asia Pacific

Hong Kong, November 10, 2020 – Barclays today announces the appointment of Florent Rodier as Head of Exotic Derivatives, Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, he will jointly report to Matt Pecot, Head of Markets Asia Pacific, and Ashish Prabhudesai, Head of Global Equity Derivatives Exotics.

Having worked in both Paris and Hong Kong, Florent brings over 20 years of industry experience. He joins Barclays from Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong, where he held a number of senior roles running the equity derivatives business across Asia Pacific. Prior to his relocation to Hong Kong in 2007, Florent was based in Paris with Société Générale where he started his career after graduating from Ecole Polytechnique and SUPAERO (Aeronautics and Space University), and focused primarily on running the exotic trading index business in Europe.

“We are delighted that Florent has joined Barclays,” said Matt Pecot. “As we continue to deliver for our clients, his appointment is also a clear demonstration of our focus and commitment to invest for growth in Asia Pacific.”

“Florent’s track record and expertise are second to none and we are thrilled to have him on board,” said Ashish Prabhudesai. “He brings with him strong industry experience which will be vital as we continue our plans to grow our global derivatives business in the region.”

Florent’s appointment follows an outstanding Q3 result for Barclays’ Global Equities business where income increased 40%, the best quarter since 2014, which was driven by equity derivatives, with higher levels of client activity and volatility.
