For the second consecutive year, Barclays has collaborated with the Out Leadership organisation to host one of its flagship events, the OutNEXT: LGBT Emerging Leader Summit.  

The two-day summit convened both clients and thought leaders from across financial services, social media, advertising, law, consulting, and technology who worked with over 190 emerging leader delegates.

Together, the thought leaders helped delegates with their leadership acumen, and with the development of business proposals that would create positive social impact in their communities. The video above captures highlights from their presentations, and reactions from participating young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) leadership talent.

There is more work that needs to be done to promote full equality across the world. All of you here in this room are a beacon of hope, demonstrable signs that the future is promising.

Our commitment to equality

We’re proud of our strong track record in supporting our LGBT colleagues and customers and have been recognised for our work by various organisations around the world.

Our Spectrum Employee Network chapters across the globe partner with the businesses to generate ideas for improving workplace inclusion both inside and outside of Barclays, as well as facilitating the connection, networking and development of LGBT employees and other colleagues. Spectrum’s global ally program helps to provide guidance to colleagues as to what an ally is, and offer clear ways in which employees can get involved in Spectrum initiatives in their region. 

In recognition of the work we do, Barclays was recognised as one of nine Star Performers in Stonewall’s ranking of the Top 100 Employers in the UK 2015. Stonewall is the UK's leading advocacy organization for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community. In the U.S., we achieved a score of 100% in the 2015 Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index for the fifth consecutive year.
