Against a backdrop of improved growth, firmer inflation and a shift to fiscal stimulus in major economies, our latest Global Outlook recommends that investors maintain an overweight allocation to US dollar-denominated assets and go down the credit curve.

The report and video above explain the rationale behind our recommended asset allocation strategy for the first quarter of 2017. They also highlight two changes that are slower moving than the political earthquakes of the US presidential election and Brexit, but which are important nevertheless.

First, political consensus around fiscal stimulus had started to change globally, even before the Trump win turbo-charged expectations in the US. Second, medium-term inflation expectations seem to have finally bottomed out after years of declines.
