Building off of an early lead, Patrick Reed turned the tables on young phenom Rickie Fowler to secure his first tournament win of the season at The Barclays 2016 at Bethpage State Park's Black Course in Farmingdale, New York.

Reed finally found his way to the winner's circle by shooting a one-under par 70 to earn the $1.53 million winner's share and put him in great position in the FedEx Cup Playoffs to earn the title and the $10 million bonus check. With the victory, Reed also landed a spot on the prestigious U.S.A. Ryder Cup team

The Barclays has been a part of the PGA TOUR schedule since 1967 when Jack Nicklaus won the inaugural event at Westchester Country Club. This year, Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Olympic Gold Medalist Justin Rose and more than 100 of golf’s best, battled it out to advance to the second round of the FedExCup Playoffs.

The tournament honoured men, women and families of the U.S. armed services during a series of military appreciation events that took place throughout the tournament.

Military mom-to-be with "Operation Shower" gifts

Barclays partnered with Birdies for the Brave to host Operation Shower, a group baby shower for 40 women whose spouses are deployed members of the New York National Guard and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Trenton, N.J. The event was emceed by entrepreneur and Bravo TV personality Rosie Pope.

The shower included a luncheon, games and gifts and was a celebration of these women and their contribution to the United States by supporting their military partners.

Gratitude to service members extended throughout the week with August 23rd designated as the tournament's official Military Appreciation Day.

Barclays' Tom McGuire presented a $10,000 donation to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). TAPS offers compassionate care to all those grieving the death of a loved one serving in our Armed Forces. McGuire is Barclays' Americas Treasurer, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and co-heads the U.S. arm of the Barclays Military Services Network.

Military members were also treated to free tournament admission and complimentary food and beverages in the Birdies for the Brave Patriots' Outpost presented by Barclays, a military-exclusive hospitality chalet located on the 18th fairway of the Black Course at Bethpage State Park. Active duty military members also enjoyed the unique opportunity to caddie for TOUR players on the 17th hole during the Pro-Am.
